Role Play: The pre-flight briefing

A pre-flight briefing is one of the pre-flight duties. It is where all the cabin crew members in a flight meet and also may begin at the boarding gate area, inside the cabin, or even in a crew shuttle bus. It is the duty of the cabin chief which can be either senior cabin crew members (SCCM), chief purser (CP), or pursers (P) to obtain essential flight information so that they can pass on the information to cabin crew members. This role play is about a pre-flight briefing of Qatar Airways's cabin crew members inside the cabin which purser passes on the essential flight information. Touching Airport Tradition: Water Salute

รูปภาพ
Water salute or water spraying from a fire truck is a touching tradition in the world of aviation to honor military veterans, foreign dignitaries, and new airline service. Salutes typically involve two firefighting rigs spraying arcs of water over an arriving or departing flight. Each water cannon salute, which lasts about two minutes, can use as much as 3,000 gallons of water, so it does involve airport fire department resources. A water salute consists of placing an even number of ARFF vehicles, namely crash tenders with powerful water cannons, on each side of a taxiway, pumping water to create a high arch. It can also be performed by three vehicles forming a triangle, with their water cannons’ stream meeting at the centre. These are four main reasons for giving a water salute: For a new airline company operating out of the airport for the first time; For a new airplane operating commercially for the first time; If the Captain of the airplane or an ATC member is re...

You can claim up to €600 in flight delay compensation !

รูปภาพ
It is not only just for the flight cancellation that lets you claim your compensation but also in the case of a flight delay as well. Would it be better if you know your passenger rights when your flight is delayed? You can claim compensation under the EU law if your flight either left from the UK, the European Union (EU), Iceland, Norway or Switzerland  or was with a European airline and landed in the UK, the EU, Norway or Switzerland, no matter where you were flying from.  If your flight's delayed for long enough, the airline must enforce your "right to care". The right to care means that the airline must provide you with meals and refreshments, as well as accommodation, where applicable. The airline has to provide you food and drink, access to phone calls and emails and accommodation if you're delayed overnight. You might also get a voucher to use at the airport. If they don't give you any help, remember to keep receipts for expenses and try to c...

Why I want to be a flight attendant ?

Most of the children are often asked by their parents or teachers what they want to be when they grow up. Some popular answers will be a doctor, a teacher, an engineer, etc. For me, when I was 10, I wanted to be a nurse. Then when I was 16, I wanted to be a veterinarian. Now I want to be a flight attendant.         There are many reasons why I want to do this job. It all began with my mother. She was a flight attendant of Thai Airways. She frequently tells me about her experiences doing this job. Then I had an opportunity to study abroad as an exchange student and it made me realized that traveling and exchanging cultures are my passions. From what I have heard from my mother and my passions, I discover that being a flight attendant is quite challenging and ideal work that suits my personalities, lifestyles, and looks. First, I care for others which is one important quality in customer service. I am also open-minded; I love to le...
